Ritn3D combines multiple detection models running in parallel to identify walls, openings, and room types. This ensemble approach delivers reliable detection across a wide range of floor plan styles and qualities.
The AI identifies room types based on size, shape, and spatial relationships. Kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas each receive appropriate materials and lighting in the generated 3D model.
Each surface receives physically-based rendering materials matched to its room type. Bathroom tiles, hardwood floors, painted walls, and exterior finishes are assigned automatically for a realistic result.
The renderer places interior light sources in each room with appropriate color temperature and intensity. Combined with HDRI-based ambient lighting, the result is a naturally lit interior visualization.
After AI detection, you get a review step to verify and adjust the detected layout. Fix any misdetections before rendering to ensure your 3D model is accurate.
The detection models are regularly updated to handle a wider variety of floor plan styles, line weights, and annotation patterns. Each update improves accuracy across all input types.

Hand-drawn floor plans are not currently supported. The AI works best with clean digital floor plans, scanned architectural drawings, and PDF exports from CAD software. Professional plans with straight, consistent wall lines produce the most accurate results.
AI detection completes in seconds. The full 3D rendering pipeline typically takes 30 to 60 seconds depending on the number of rooms and complexity of the layout. The entire process from upload to interactive 3D model is under 2 minutes.
The detection models are updated periodically to improve accuracy across all floor plan types. Individual corrections you make in the review step ensure your specific model is accurate but do not directly retrain the AI in real time.
The AI works best on single-story floor plans with standard wall representations. Heavily annotated plans, 3D perspective drawings, or layouts with non-standard symbols may require more manual adjustments in the review step. Multi-story buildings are processed one floor at a time.
