Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Ritn3D — pricing, features, file formats, sharing, and more.

General

Ritn3D is a mobile app that converts 2D floor plans (PDF or image) into interactive 3D interior models. Upload a floor plan, review the auto-detected layout, and generate a 3D model you can orbit, walk through, and share via a link — no CAD skills or 3D software required. Available on iOS, Android, and Windows.

Ritn3D is available as a native app on iOS, Android, and Windows, and as a web app at app.ritn3d.com. One account works across all of them. Shared 3D models open in any web browser — recipients do not need to install the app.

It works well on clean, legible floor plans — printed, digital, or PDF. Hand-drawn or heavily annotated plans may need more manual corrections. The review step before generating lets you fix anything the detection missed.

Most floor plans are converted into a full 3D model in under two minutes. Processing time depends on the complexity of the plan — larger multi-room layouts may take slightly longer.

Ritn3D is built for anyone who works with floor plans — real estate agents, architects, interior designers, homeowners, and builders. No technical expertise is needed to get started.

Floor plan editor

Yes. The Ritn3D floor plan editor is free forever with unlimited plans. Draw walls, doors, and windows on your phone or in the browser at app.ritn3d.com/app/dashboard, and export the plan as JPG or PDF. Sign in with Google or email in seconds — no card, no phone number.

Yes. Unlimited plans, unlimited JPG and PDF downloads, no watermark on drawing exports. Sign-in with Google or email is required to save your work and access the editor — no card, no phone number, takes about 10 seconds. 3D conversion is metered: free tier gives 3 renders per month, and 20 renders come with Pro at $9.99/month (7-day trial).

From the editor you can download the 2D floor plan as JPG or PDF, unlimited and watermark-free. STL and GLB are 3D formats, so they come from the 3D model rather than the drawing — generate the model and Pro+ can download either, including print-ready STL.

Yes. Import a photo or PDF as a tracing guide and draw walls directly over it. This works well for paper plans, MLS listing images, hand-drawn sketches, or a printed builder plan you photographed with your phone.

Yes — sign in with Google or email to access the editor. It takes about 10 seconds, no card, no phone number, no email verification wall. Signing in also syncs your plans across your phone, tablet, and browser automatically.

Pricing & Plans

The floor plan editor is free forever with unlimited plans. For AI 3D conversion: the free tier includes 3 renders per month; Pro is $9.99/month (launch price, regular $14.99/month) with 20 renders, Full HD quality, walkthrough mode, furniture placement, no watermark, and 90-day cloud sync, and includes a 7-day free trial; Pro+ is $19.99/month with 40 renders plus 10 GLB or STL downloads per month.

Free gives you 3 renders per month with a bird's-eye view, standard textures, and up to 5 share views per project (with a Ritn3D watermark). Pro unlocks 20 renders per month, Full HD textures, walkthrough mode, furniture placement, no watermark, up to 50 share views per project, and 90-day cloud sync across devices. The floor plan drawing editor is unlimited and free on every tier.

Yes. If you subscribed on iPhone, iPad, or Android, cancel through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. If you subscribed on the web or on Windows, manage it from your account or through the link in your Dodo Payments receipt. No cancellation fees either way.

Yes. Pro includes a 7-day free trial, so you can test walkthrough mode, Full HD textures, and furniture placement before you are charged. Pro+ does not include a trial. You can also evaluate the full pipeline at no cost on the free tier, which gives you 3 renders per month plus unlimited floor plan drawing.

It depends where you subscribe. On iPhone, iPad, and Android, subscriptions are handled through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, so any payment method those stores accept works — credit/debit cards, carrier billing, gift cards, and more. On the web app and on Windows, payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, which accepts major credit and debit cards. Either way your subscription works across every platform on the same account.

Features

Walkthrough mode lets you orbit, rotate, and explore every room of your 3D model interactively — not just from above. It's included in the Pro plan.

Free plan allows up to 5 views per project. Pro allows up to 50 views per project. Views are counted per unique link open.

Pro subscribers get 90-day cloud sync — your models are available across devices for 90 days. Free renders are available for 7 days after generation.

Pro subscribers can export their 3D models as GLB files — the standard format used by Blender, Unity, Unreal Engine, Sketchfab, and other 3D tools. GLB files preserve textures, lighting, and materials.

GLB files open in Blender, Unreal, Unity, Sketchfab, and most 3D software. STL files open in any slicer — Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, or Lychee. If you just want to look at the model rather than edit it, Open3D Viewer is free and opens both formats, and on Windows it lets you walk through the model at eye level. You can get it at open3d.app.

Tap the share button on any saved project to generate a unique link. Recipients open it in any web browser and see your 3D model in an interactive viewer — no app install or login required.

Technical

Ritn3D accepts PDF floor plans, JPG images, and PNG images. Both digital and scanned floor plans work. Hand-drawn or heavily annotated plans may need manual corrections in the review step.

Higher-resolution files produce better detection results. For scanned plans, 200 DPI or above is recommended. Blurry, cropped, or low-contrast images may require more manual corrections in the review step.

Yes. Your uploads are processed securely and never shared with third parties. Shared 3D model links are access-controlled and can be revoked at any time from within the app.

Currently, each upload generates a single-floor 3D model. For multi-story buildings, upload each floor separately. Multi-floor stitching is on the roadmap.

After detection, you can adjust walls, doors, windows, and room labels before generating the 3D model. This ensures the final result matches your floor plan even if the AI missed or misidentified elements.

3D Printing

Yes — Ritn3D is the only floor plan converter that exports print-ready STL for 3D printing. Pro+ subscribers get 10 STL downloads per month. The STL is a single watertight mesh — open it in your slicer (Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer), choose a scale, and print. No manual mesh repair needed.

Pro+ is $19.99/month and includes everything in Pro with 40 renders per month, 10 GLB/STL downloads per month, and commercial use rights. Extra downloads are $3.99 each. It is designed for users who need physical scale models — 3D print shops, architects, and real estate agents producing keepsakes or presentation models.

You can export at 1:50, 1:100, 1:200, 1:350, or 1:500 — or enter a custom scale. The STL file is pre-scaled so you print without resizing in the slicer. A 1:100 single-floor model typically fits on a standard 220×220 mm print bed.

Download the STL and upload it to an online print service like Craftcloud, PCBWay, or JLC3DP. Many local libraries and makerspaces also offer 3D printing. Costs typically run $5–$20 per model depending on size and material.
